If you want a no fuss cookie icing that's easier than royal icing then you have come to the right place! This fun cookie icing can be made in one bowl with just a whisk in 3 minutes. The best part is that you don't even need to use piping bags to decorate, I'll show you how to make them look pretty without them! All the pictures below show this icing (and technique) over my cut out chocolate sugar cookies.
1lbpowdered sugar, (4 cups) buy the box so you dont have to measure
1tspvanilla extract
2tbsplight corn syrup
5tbspmilk, or water
Equipment

1 whisk
1 measuring spoons
Instructions
Add 1 lb powdered sugar to a medium sized mixing bowl.
Next add in the 1 tsp vanilla, 2 tbsp light corn syrup, and 5 tbsp milk.
Whisk well until smooth, about 30 seconds.
Color the icing to you liking and see the notes below for how to decorate cookies without a piping bag.
Notes
How to decorate cookies without a piping bag:
Grip the cookie by the edges and dip face first into the icing bowl.
Lift the cookie and let the excess icing drip back into the bowl for 3 seconds.
Flip the cookie over to right side up
Lightly shake the cookie to evenly spread out the icing.
Place on a wire rack to dry. If you want to add sprinkles make sure to srpinkle right away or the icing can harden and they won't stick. Yield:The recipe makes about 3.5 cups. The amount of cookies it can ice depends on the size of the cookie. I made 20 3" cookies and still had a little less than a cup of icing left.
