This edible sugar cookie dough is everything you love about classic cookie dough, sweet, buttery, and loaded with sprinkles but 100% safe to eat!

It’s made without eggs, skips the brown sugar, and uses heat-treated flour so you can dig in without a second thought.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever snuck a spoonful of cookie dough straight from the bowl, then crossed your fingers you wouldn’t regret it later. It’s me hi,🙋🏻‍♀️.

That’s exactly why I came up with this edible sugar cookie dough without brown sugar, it’s sweet, buttery, loaded with sprinkles, and 100% safe to eat. No eggs, no baking required. Just a fun, no bake sugar cookie dough you can whip up in minutes.

Sometimes I keep it in a bowl for snacking, and other times I press it into a pan and slice it into edible sugar cookie dough bars. Either way, it’s always a hit with my kids (and, let’s be real, me too).

As a trained pastry chef I love recipes that bring out fun in the kitchen. And this one? Definitely one of those cookie recipes you’ll want to make again and again.

Heat treating is the process of cooking the flour so that it kills all the bacteria inside of it. All you have to do is spread out the flour on a rimmed baking sheet and heat it in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes!

Then you’ll mix the rest of ingredients together and your’e done! It’s the same process I use when making cookie dough cupcakes or cookie dough frosting.

This is a really great recipe to make with kids too. Of course if you wanna go crazy and ACTUALLY make cookies I 100% recommend these funfetti cookies , strawberry cookies, or 20 minute small batch chocolate chip cookies.

Recipe Instructions

How to serve

You can either serve them on a plate like I did here or you can scoop the dough into individual jars and eat it with a spoon!

If you scoop the dough into 2-3″ balls it will make about 12. If you want to put it into jars it will feed less. Feel free to double the recipe.

The only thing with this recipe is that it needs to stay unbaked, you can’t actually bake it into cookies because theres no eggs, or leavening agents to be able to make them rise. It would all just melt!

Some expert tips

  • You can either scoop out the balls using an ice cream scoop or shape with your hands.
  • If the dough is too crumbly you can add a bit more of the milk.
  • If the dough is too sticky, put it in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm up.
